Enrolments

Our class

We are a mixed-age centre, licensed for 35 children: up to 5 infants and toddlers from 3months to the age of 2 who will be based in the Koru Room and 30 children up to the age of 6 who are based in the Pukeko Room. The infants and toddlers spend time with the older children in the Pukeko Room at various times of the day

Come and see us!

To enrol your child/children at Queens Park ECE we strongly recommend you come in and meet the team, and have a look around the centre. During your visit you will be given an enrolment pack that includes an enrolment form, brochure, fees policy, complaints procedure and lunchbox guidelines. We have the Heart Foundation’s Whanau (Silver) Healthy Heart Award which includes making healthy food choices. When you return the enrolment form, we require a copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport and immunisation certificate (we can take copies at the centre). We will arrange for your child to have 2 free sessions at the centre before their starting day so that we can get to know them and they can get to know us. A staff member will give you a tour of the centre and talk with you about your expectations of us and your aspirations for your child, our philosophy, explain our daily routines,  introduce you to our team, and answer any questions you may have.

What you need

Your child will need to bring a bag with them each day, with one or more changes of clothing, a jacket for changeable weather, lunch in a named container, and hats suitable for the weather. Sun hats must be worn during terms 1 and 4 of the school year (October until March). Please apply sunscreen to your child during these months and please provide clothing that is sunsafe. We apply sunscreen to every child after morning tea and before going outside after lunch. Our infants and toddlers will also require enough nappies for the day (at least 4 nappy changes are scheduled each day) or spare underwear and clothing for those children who are toilet training, bottles and formula powder (named please) to be made up at the centre, and any special toy or object (dummy, wrap, blanket etc) that your child may need in order to feel secure. Please name all of your child’s belongings. Bags are kept in lockers located on the deck beside the main door.

Be prepared for Excursions!

Your child will be involved in various excursions such as bush walks, swimming, farm tour etc.  these trips require certain clothing, and staff will inform you prior to the excursion.
